Its history began in 1817, when brothers John and Thomas McClelland obtained a distilling licence for their Lowland farm. Bladnoch uses water from the river and malt from British producers to make its whisky.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAustralian entrepreneur David Prior acquired the distillery in 2015 and began an extensive renewal programme.
