The name plays on the Scottish word for a measure of whisky and the repeated letter A in the island name Raasay. The whisky is bottled at 46.4%, without chill filtration or added colouring. The bottle\u0026#39;s relief design draws on the island\u0026#39;s fossils and rock formations. Light minerality and a hint of damp linen appear in the background. With time, plum and raspberry become more prominent, accompanied by peppery spice. A few drops of water make the aroma more open and deeper: Herbs, banana peel and black cherry emerge, while the smoke takes on a lightly charred note.\u003c\/li\u003e\u003cli\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePalate:\u003c\/strong\u003e The palate opens softly and sweetly with green apple and fruit sweets. Red and dark fruit combine with restrained peat smoke. The mid-palate is juicy; cherry and sweet spices balance one another, while the smoke recalls a distant campfire. The 19th-century Borodale House was transformed into a distillery with a visitor centre and overnight accommodation. The island\u0026#39;s first legal distillation began there on 14 September 2017.
