Adriatico Zero brings the roasted almond character of amaretto to an alcohol-free recipe. Hand-picked Filippo Cea almonds are roasted, soaked to extract their aromas and then distilled. The highly concentrated almond distillate gives the drink a pronounced almond flavour even in small quantities. Natural flavourings, cane sugar and a pinch of Adriatic sea salt complete the recipe. The sugar concentration is half that of a traditional amaretto, while a subtle cinnamon note complements the flavour.

The miniature contains 0.05 litres at 0% alcohol and is suitable for trying the drink or making a single cocktail serving. Adriatico Zero can be enjoyed over ice, used in alcohol-free cocktails or paired with desserts such as affogato and tiramisu. It has a mahogany-brown colour in the glass. Impressions of bitter almonds, cherries and allspice linger in the empty glass.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Intense bitter almond and caramel notes lead on the nose. Tonka bean, pepper and vanilla complement the aroma, while a delicate gardenia note adds a floral accent.
• Palate: On the palate, Adriatico Zero feels silky and syrupy, both sweet and fresh. Roasted almonds and frangipane, an almond cream used in pâtisserie, combine with ripe banana, citrus fruit and cocoa. A hint of cherry stone complements these impressions.
• Finish: The long finish feels oily, with impressions of maraschino cherries, coffee, hazelnuts, pine resin and gingerbread. Herbal and woody nuances, along with a subtle trace of salt, accompany the lingering flavours.

Distillery/Bottler:

Adriatico grew from Jean-Robert Bellanger's idea of reimagining Italian amaretto. His personal inspiration was his Italian mother's tiramisu, which she enhanced with a little amaretto. Puglia became central to the brand's concept: the Filippo Cea almonds come from the region, and Adriatico Zero is produced and bottled there.

The connection to Puglia is also reflected in the brand's design. The logo draws on the region's characteristic trulli, traditional dry-stone houses with conical roofs. The medieval architecture of Castel del Monte inspired the bottle design. Alongside Zero, the brand also offers Amaretto Roasted Almonds and the milder Bianco variant, based on white almonds.
