Aultmore 2008/2024 - 15 y.o. - PX/Oloroso + Amarone Cask - Murray McDavid

Special features: This 15-year-old single malt from Speyside impresses with an elaborate cask combination: It spent its main maturation in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, before a finish in former Amarone wine casks complemented its complex structure. With only 1,127 bottles in a limited release, it is particularly collectible.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Rich aromas of dried fruits, dark chocolate, and a fine spice, accompanied by sweet notes from Amarone grapes.
  • Palate: Full-bodied with an elegant balance of sherry sweetness, intense cherry flavors, and fine oak spice.
  • Finish: Powerful and long-lasting, marked by sustainably fruity and slightly tannic traces.

Distillery/Bottler: The Aultmore Distillery, located in the heart of Speyside, is one of the traditional producers of fine Scottish whiskies. Known for their fruit-forward, clear, and balanced single malts, they are here collaborating with the independent bottler Murray McDavid to bring a characterful drop to the market. Murray McDavid has been distinguished for decades by careful selection and innovative cask finishings.
