Bisquit & Dubouché VSOP brings together eaux-de-vie sourced almost exclusively from four Cognac crus: Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Fins Bois and Bons Bois. They mature for at least four years in French oak casks. Bottled at 40% alcohol in a 0.7-litre bottle, this Cognac combines ripe fruit, floral notes, honey and warm spices in a smooth style.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, dried apricot and honey mingle with cinnamon and clove. A delicate rose note complements the bouquet.
• Palate: The Cognac is smooth and rounded on the palate. Honeysuckle, citrus fruit, mango and pear shape its flavour.
• Finish: The finish is long. Leather, nuts, wood and rancio become more prominent in the lingering aftertaste.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Cognac house Bisquit & Dubouché traces its origins to Alexandre Bisquit, who founded his company in 1819. Adrien Dubouché joined as a business partner in 1846. Its headquarters are in a château in the centre of Cognac. The house has maturation cellars, blending cellars where the eaux-de-vie are brought together, and a bottling facility.

Bisquit & Dubouché works with selected partner distillers. Its production process includes distillation on the lees and double distillation in traditional copper Charentais stills. With the house's Long Cut method, the heart of the distillate is collected for longer before the tails are separated. The distillers determine the cut by smelling and tasting. This allows more aromatic compounds into the heart, shaping the house's fruity, floral style and smooth texture.
