Special features: This limited release from 2023 has been fully matured in First Fill Sherry casks from Jerez and is limited to 3,984 bottles. The whisky has not been chill-filtered and contains no coloring, preserving its natural color and aromatic diversity.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Lush aromas of raisins, juicy mandarins, and peaches, accompanied by notes of freshly baked cake and candied fruits. A hint of caramel cookie dough, spices, and oak rounds out the bouquet.
- Palate: Complex and fruity with flavor notes of fruitcake, vanilla, and caramel. Juicy mandarins, cake spices, and toffee combine with subtle oak spice and aromas of prunes.
- Finish: Medium-long and fruity with pleasant spice that harmoniously rounds off the taste.
Distillery/Bottler: The Hercynian Distilling Co., known under the brand name Elsburn, is located in the picturesque Elsbach Valley in the South Harz. Since 2002, the distillery, led by Karl-Theodor and Anna Buchholz, has been producing high-quality single malt whisky. The whiskies are bottled in small batches without chill filtration and without coloring, emphasizing the artisanal quality and natural character of the products.
