Glen Scotia 2011/2025 Whiskyopolis - Campbeltown Saga No.1

Special features: With the "Campbeltown Saga No.1," Glen Scotia presents a limited edition that honors the rich heritage of the former whisky capital Campbeltown. Distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2025, this 14-year-old single malt matured in first-fill bourbon casks, which are filled with peated spirit for one month each year. This rare practice gives the whisky a unique character that brings the golden era of Campbeltown back to life.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Warm peat smoke envelops fresh green apples and grilled pineapple, accompanied by creamy vanilla and melted brown sugar.
  • Palate: Robust smoke combines with citrus notes, a salty coastal minerality, and a hint of maritime freshness. Creamy bourbon vanilla and caramelized brown sugar enhance the tasting experience.
  • Finish: Long-lasting, salty-sweet, and accompanied by smoldering smoke trails, fine sea notes, vanilla cream, and charred wood nuances elegantly fade away.

Distillery/Bottler: Glen Scotia was founded in 1832 in the heart of Campbeltown and is one of the few distilleries that preserve the historical whisky heritage of the region. The distillery is known for its maritime, oily, and complex whiskies with a distinctive smoky signature in the peated bottlings.
