Kinclaith 1969/2009 Sig RR
Special features: This rare single malt from the long-closed Kinclaith distillery in the Lowlands impresses with its 40-year maturation in hogshead casks. It was bottled in 2009 at cask strength with 47.3% alcohol by volume, limited to only 217 bottles. The bottling comes from the popular Rare Reserve series by Signatory Vintage and is presented in an elegant wooden box.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Dark malt notes paired with a subtle hint of tobacco
- Palate: Light oak notes, sweet plums, and a fine yeast note
- Finish: Lingering, complex with a slight spiciness
Distillery/Bottler: The Kinclaith distillery was founded in 1957 in the Scottish Lowlands and has been out of operation since 1975. Its single malts are therefore particularly sought after and rare to find. Signatory Vintage is a renowned independent bottler that specializes in carefully selected and traditionally produced single malts and offers exclusive bottlings with the Rare Reserve series.
