The name "Natterjack" is a tribute to the Irish natterjack toad, known for its peculiar way of moving, symbolizing the courage to forge one's own path.

Aidan Mehigan discovered his passion for whiskey during a visit to Detroit and deepened his knowledge through a distilling course. Together with the esteemed master distiller Jordan Via from Colorado and his sister Lisa, he founded Gortinore Distillers & Co. in Ireland. The distillery is located in a mill over 150 years old in Kilmacthomas, County Waterford, which is currently being converted into a modern distillery.
