Vallein Tercinier Petite Champagne Lot 35

Special features: This rare single cask cognac was distilled in 1935 and spent over 50 years in French oak barrels. The brandy then rested for 24 years in a glass bottle, the so-called "Dame Jeanne," allowing the distinctive balance of oxidative and fruity aromas known as the "Old Bottle Flavor" to develop. Only 80 bottles of this collection were bottled, unfiltered and without coloring, at a robust 47% ABV.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Rich and complex with notes of dried apricot, silver fir honey, shell limestone, desiccated coconut, sugarcane juice, and hints of ripe pineapple and mango mousse. Green apple and pear nuances are evident in the background.
  • Palate: Oily with a touch of "funk," comparable to Caribbean rum. The balanced fruit and acidity are reminiscent of a renowned Riesling, complemented by subtle spiciness reminiscent of fine chili. Spicy hints of sandalwood and pine add complexity.
  • Finish: Long and fresh with a lasting summer freshness.

Distillery/Bottler: Vallein Tercinier is a traditional family business in Chermignac, now in its fifth and sixth generations, producing the finest cognacs. The house's history is characterized by meticulous craftsmanship and a rich inventory of decades-old casks, which continually produce exclusive single casks. Whisky fans in particular appreciate the authentic and complex bottlings from this extensive collection.
