Chateau de Gaube 1971/2023 - Armagnac Darroze 52 y.o.

Special features: This extraordinary Armagnac comes from the renowned house of Darroze and was distilled in 1971 at the Château de Gaube in the Bas-Armagnac appellation. After more than five decades of aging in French oak barrels, it was bottled in 2023. The limited release and long maturation period make this Armagnac a rare rarity for connoisseurs and collectors.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Complex aromas of dried fruits such as apricot and plum, accompanied by spicy notes of vanilla and cinnamon, as well as a hint of leather and cocoa.
  • Palate: Full-bodied and smooth with a fine sweetness reminiscent of dried apricots and chocolate. A subtle hint of sea salt and tobacco adds depth and complexity.
  • Finish: Long and elegant with lingering aromas of ripe fruits and a fine spiciness that underscores the impression of finesse and balance.

Distillery/Bottler: Darroze is a traditional family business that specializes in the production and bottling of vintage Armagnacs. Since the end of the 19th century, the Darroze family has dedicated itself to the art of Armagnac production, placing great importance on authenticity and quality. Each Armagnac is distilled individually and aged in personal oak barrels to preserve the characteristics of the respective terroir.
