Domaine de Bellair 1989/2024 - 35 y.o. - Armagnac Darroze

Special features: This 35-year-aged Armagnac from the 1989 vintage was bottled in 2024 by the renowned Darroze family. The Domaine de Bellair in Cravancères, located in the heart of the Bas-Armagnac region, is characterized by a terroir of 60% sand and 40% clay, ideal for the grape varieties Baco and Ugni Blanc. The Armagnac was aged in local oak barrels, contributing to its unique aromatic profile.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: A vibrant bouquet with aromas of candied fruits such as mango and quince, accompanied by fine spice notes like vanilla and licorice, as well as subtle tobacco and chocolate notes.
  • Palate: Full-bodied and complex, with flavor notes of plum, quince, nutmeg, praline, and honey, supported by a pleasant tannin structure.
  • Finish: Long and warming, with a hint of vanilla and nut that harmoniously rounds off the tasting experience.

Distillery/Bottler: The Darroze family has been involved in Armagnac production since the late 19th century and specializes in the collection and bottling of exceptional vintage Armagnacs. Each bottling is distilled from a single cuvée of a vintage and aged in local oak barrels to preserve the authenticity and terroir of the respective vintage.
