Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 40% | Chill filtration: Yes | Colouring: No
Special Features:
This eight-year-old blended malt from Hart Brothers brings together selected Highland single malts matured for at least eight years. As the blend consists exclusively of malt whiskies, it contains no grain whisky; its character reflects Alistair Hart’s selection and skilful combination of different malts rather than the signature of a single distillery.
At 40% alcohol, the whisky is approachable without losing its underlying malty structure. Pear drops, ripe peach and other light summer fruits mingle with barley, soft vanilla and delicate herbs, while toasted oak leads into a creamy finish shaped by marzipan and nuts.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose reveals delicate fruit notes, soft vanilla and subtle herbs.
- Palate: The whisky is balanced and medium-dry on the palate, where summer fruits and barley mingle with gently toasted oak.
- Finish: The long finish is velvety and creamy, with vanilla and marzipan giving way to a delicate nutty aftertaste.
Distillery/Bottler:
Hart Brothers Limited selects, blends and bottles the whisky under its own brand. Iain and Donald Hart founded the company in 1964 as a wine and spirits wholesaler and Scotch whisky blender; Alistair Hart joined as Chief Blender in 1975 and took responsibility for selecting distinctive malt whisky casks.
The family’s roots in Scotland’s licensed trade extend back to the late 19th century, when it ran public houses in Paisley. Accordingly, the defining craft behind this blended malt lies in selecting and combining eight-year-old Highland malts rather than following the recipe of a single distillery.
