Full maturation in a first-fill sherry butt defines this single-cask bottling. The Glen Moray was distilled in August 2013 and bottled by Hart Brothers in January 2023 after nine years.

Sherry and dried fruit form the core of the profile. Roasted nuts add a finer accent, while caramel, vanilla and dark chocolate lead into warm spice.

The bottle contains 0.7 litres. The whisky was bottled at 46% without chill filtration or added colouring.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glen Moray produced this single malt in Elgin, Speyside. The distillery was established in 1897 through the conversion of the former Elgin West Brewery; even in its early years, its spirit was filled into different types of cask, including sherry casks.

Iain and Donald Hart founded Hart Brothers in 1964 as a wine and spirits wholesaler and Scotch whisky blender. The company selects vintage casks by tasting them for single-cask bottlings and allows suitable whiskies additional maturation beforehand. Only water is added to the malt whisky at bottling.

For this independent bottling, Hart Brothers selected the nine-year-old Glen Moray, fully matured in a first-fill sherry butt, and bottled it in January 2023.
