Special Features:

Maturation in a single port pipe defines this nine-year-old single-cask bottling. Loch Lomond distilled the Inchmurrin in January 2014, and Hart Brothers bottled the whisky at 46% in January 2023. It contains no added colour and is non-chill-filtered.

The port pipe combines Inchmurrin’s fruity underlying character with dark berries and a vinous, spicy dimension. Blackcurrant, banana, blackberry and blueberry define the clearly structured aromatic profile. Oak, clove, port notes, sweet spices and a touch of sherry bitterness provide more austere accents, while the texture remains creamy.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, red fruit and pome fruit combine with oak, port notes and pronounced blackcurrant, while lychee and cranberry add restrained accents.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky is creamy, full-bodied and rounded. Ripe banana and clove combine with blackberry and blueberry, with the two berries evoking a cheese board.
• Finish: The long finish combines sweet spices and a touch of sherry bitterness with lingering berry fruit and a lightly peppery accent.

Distillery/Bottler:

This Inchmurrin Highland single malt comes from Loch Lomond Distillery. The distillery opened in 1964 and began production in 1965. Its swan-neck and straight-neck stills enable it to produce different styles of malt whisky, with Inchmurrin forming one of its distinctive distillates.

Hart Brothers Limited operates as an independent bottler. The family was already active in Paisley’s licensed hospitality trade in the late 19th century; Iain and Donald Hart founded the present company in 1964 as a wine and spirits wholesaler and Scotch whisky blender. Hart Brothers allows selected malt and grain whiskies to mature further and, after careful tasting, decides which casks will be released as single-cask bottlings. Before bottling, the company adds nothing but water to its malt whiskies.
