Franzi Franzbrötchenlikör - O'Zapft is! (oktoberfest) Edition

Volume: 0.5 litres | Alcohol content: 15% | Chill filtration: Yes | Colouring: Yes

Special Features:

The O'Zapft is! Edition presents the flavour of Hamburg's Franzbrötchen pastry in limited-edition Oktoberfest packaging. The light-blue label reflects the festival theme with illustrations of pretzels and pastries. Inside is a cream liqueur whose creamy character brings together the pastry's sweet and spicy flavours.

The liqueur contains 15% alcohol and is available in a bottle containing 0.5 litres. Served lightly chilled, it can be enjoyed neat or used in speciality coffee drinks. It contains milk and colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Cinnamon and sweet caramel lead on the nose, complemented by a subtle buttery pastry note.
• Palate: The liqueur feels silky on the palate. Sweet vanilla softens the pronounced cinnamon spice.
• Finish: The long finish remains smooth and recalls pastries with a sweet glaze.

Distillery/Bottler:

Franzi was created by siblings Johann and Ann-Katrin Dallmeyer from Elmshorn, who also founded the Korn and liqueur brand NORK. They launched Franzi as their second brand in 2021, inspired by Hamburg's Franzbrötchen pastry. Developing the original liqueur took almost four years and numerous recipe trials.

Choosing a cream base was crucial: it gives the liqueur its velvety texture and carries the pastry's characteristic flavours of cinnamon, caramelised sugar, butter and dough, along with a hint of vanilla. The female sailor on the Franzi labels reflects the brand's northern German origins.
