Elephant Orange Cocoa adds fresh organic Spanish oranges and roasted cocoa beans to the herbal base of Elephant London Dry Gin. The oranges undergo vacuum distillation to preserve their delicate aromas. Incorporating the cocoa required numerous trials before the desired balance of citrus freshness and chocolate notes was achieved.

Orange contributes a fresh, sweet citrus character, while cocoa provides a dry, velvety counterpoint. This gin contains 40% alcohol and comes in a 0.5-litre bottle with gift packaging. No colouring is added.

The bottle features a handwritten label and a natural cork stopper. Elephant Gin donates 15% of the profit from every bottle sold to projects protecting African elephants.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, fresh orange peel combines with subtle cocoa and the characteristic aroma of juniper.
• Palate: On the palate, fresh citrus notes sit alongside gentle spice and a delicate chocolate nuance.
• Finish: The finish is soft and slightly dry. Subtle cocoa and citrus notes linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

Robin and Tessa Gerlach are the founders behind Elephant Gin. Their travels in Africa and encounters with people involved in elephant conservation inspired the idea of combining an African-inspired gin with tangible support for wildlife conservation. The distillery is located in Wittenburg, between Hamburg and Berlin.

Elephant Gin works with small production batches, hand-selected botanicals and distillation in copper stills. Fresh apples are cut just before distillation, and the botanical ingredients are macerated to extract their aromas. The labels are also handwritten and the bottles sealed by hand. The labels bear the names of notable elephants from the past or animals whose protection is supported by the partner organisations.
