Special Features:

Sérénité Extra brings together very old eaux-de-vie from 100% Grande Champagne. Its composition comprises 85% Ugni Blanc and 15% of the rare Folle Blanche grape variety, which was already widespread before the phylloxera crisis.

The cuvée was created in 2009 to mark the retirement of Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen’s father after 40 years in the family business. The cognac is bottled at 40% in a bottle containing 0.7 litres and comes in a premium presentation box.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals hints of mocha and bitter orange marmalade.
• Palate: The cognac is exceptionally rounded on the palate, with hints of coffee, vanilla and floral notes.
• Finish: The finish is rich and very long.

Distillery/Bottler:

Behind Bache-Gabrielsen is the cognac house THS Bache-Gabrielsen SAS, which manages the brand. Its history began in Cognac in 1905, when the Norwegians Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen and Peter Rustad acquired Maison A. Edmond Dupuy, founded in 1852. In 2009, Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen took over as the fourth generation to lead the house.

Since 1989, cellar master Jean-Philippe Bergier has been responsible for selecting the eaux-de-vie, overseeing their cask maturation and creating the house’s blends. He comes from a family of winegrowers and distillers in Petite Champagne. In 2015, two storage cellars and a blending cellar were built in Louzac-Saint-André near Cognac. This brought the storage and maturation of the eaux-de-vie entirely under the house’s own control.
