Special Features:

The twelfth release in the Black Rock series is an eight-year-old Irish single grain whiskey finished in a re-toasted ex-bourbon cask. An STR cask was used for this final maturation. The whiskey was bottled at cask strength at 57.9% ABV, without chill filtration or added colouring.

Irish Whiskeys selected a single cask for this edition. Its flavour profile combines sweet dessert notes with dried fruit, toasted wood, almonds and spice.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose offers aromas of vanilla crescent biscuits and crème brûlée. Marzipan, dried apricot and milk chocolate complement the sweet profile.
• Palate: Creamy vanilla, toasted wood and caramelised almonds come together on the palate.
• Finish: The finish is long, combining vanilla with spicy notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Irish-Whiskeys.de was founded by Mareike Spitzer, who launched the online shop specialising in Irish spirits in September 2012. The business subsequently developed its own single-cask ranges, including Black Rock alongside Fairy Cask and Lady of Arms.

For Batch 12, Irish Whiskeys was responsible for selecting the single cask and bottling the whiskey. The edition’s character comes from the eight-year-old grain whiskey and its finish in the treated ex-bourbon cask.
