Orange, herbs and bittersweetness define Aperol. Fruits, herbs and roots are infused during production, while the exact composition remains secret. This Italian official bottling contains 1 litre and has an alcohol content of 11%.

The bottle design introduced in 2026 leaves the recipe unchanged. The bottle features a reshaped silhouette, ribbed glass and gently curved shoulders. A smaller front label reveals more of the orange liquid, while the transparent back label explains how to prepare an Aperol Spritz. A monogram embossed in the glass pays tribute to the Barbieri brothers.

To make an Aperol Spritz, combine three parts Prosecco, two parts Aperol and one part soda water in a large wine glass with plenty of ice. An orange slice completes the cocktail.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, lively orange aromas meet layered herbal notes. A hint of vanilla and a light alcoholic impression complete the bouquet.
• Palate: Intense orange leads on the palate, accompanied by herbs and balanced bittersweetness. The texture feels velvety and rounded.
• Finish: Bittersweet herbal notes linger on the finish, joined by a spicy note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Luigi and Silvio Barbieri developed Aperol in their father's liqueur business. They experimented for seven years before introducing the aperitif in 1919. Its early spread was closely linked to the cafés of Padua and the traditional bars of Venice.

The familiar Aperol Spritz recipe emerged in the 1950s. Gruppo Campari later acquired the brand and expanded its international reach. The secret original recipe from 1919 remains the basis of Aperol today; the bottle redesign in 2026 also left it unchanged.
