Orange Sundown centres on ripe orange and refreshing citrus notes. Subtle herbs and mild bittersweetness give this German aperitivo its fruity, bitter character. The liqueur has an alcohol content of 15%.

The vegan recipe is handcrafted. Orange Sundown can be combined with Secco or tonic water to make aperitivo cocktails. It can also be enjoyed neat over ice or ice-cold as a shot.

The 0.5-litre version is an orange-focused aperitivo in the Böser Kater range. Its citrus character is complemented by a subtle herbal note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Edelobstbrennerei Schleihauf in Eppingen produces Orange Sundown; the aperitivo is an official bottling. Adrian Clausing took over the family business in its third generation. Handcrafted spirits have been made there for more than four decades. The original focus was on liqueurs and fruit spirits made from fruit grown in local meadows, before Clausing began expanding the range with his own gin recipes.

Natural Elixsir GmbH, led by managing director Adrian Clausing, is the company behind Böser Kater. A dedicated production facility was completed in 2025. The larger production and storage areas provide room to develop the range further, while an event room allows tastings to be held on site. The brand name was inspired by Clausing's tomcat Rüdiger. With every bottle sold, the company supports its partners in cat welfare.
