Pink grapefruit defines this aperitif liqueur from Brennerei Henrich. Its character brings together juicy citrus fruit, sweetness, acidity and a delicate bitterness, with thyme complementing the fruit-led profile. The liqueur has a vivid pink colour and contains colouring. It is offered at 15% alcohol in a bottle containing 0.7 litres.

For a spritz, mix one to two parts liqueur with two parts Secco or sparkling wine and one part soda water. The Pink Grapefruit aperitif liqueur provides a fruity base for a sparkling drink.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals juicy grapefruit and fresh citrus notes. A delicate peel note adds a gentle bitterness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Brennerei Henrich in Kriftel grew out of the family business Obsthof am Berg. After Horst Henrich obtained distilling rights in 1983, the family began turning surplus apples, plums, mirabelle plums and pears into fruit spirits. Liqueurs are also part of its heritage: Anni Henrich made a herbal liqueur using plants from her own garden. The new bonded distillery removed the previous production limits in 2006, allowing the business to expand its spirits production.

Today, brothers Holger and Ralf Henrich run the family business in its third generation. Both studied beverage technology; Ralf also brought training in winegrowing and experience as a cellar master. Contacts Holger made during his studies helped the family introduce cask ageing for its fruit spirits. Alongside these spirits, the family develops liqueurs, gin and whisky, and also produces rum from sugar cane molasses.
