Aged for 21 years, this bottling is one of five single malts in the Colour Collection, which is reserved exclusively for travel retail worldwide. The range marks the return of age statements to this portfolio.

The whisky matures in American oak casks seasoned with sherry from Jerez, complemented by a small proportion of European oak. Its warm bronze colour comes entirely from the interaction between the spirit and the oak casks; the light oak appearance of the presentation box was chosen to match this colour.

The Colour Collection was designed in collaboration with graphic designer David Carson. Jerez, its vineyards and its sherry culture inspired both the packaging and his collages.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, crème brûlée, candied orange and lemon mingle with sweet, mature oak and caramelised pineapple.
• Palate: On the palate, tropical fruits and candied ginger meet coffee cream, hazelnuts and dark chocolate with orange. Cardamom complements the fruit and dessert notes.
• Finish: The medium-length finish fades with balanced oak spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Macallan Distillery stands on the Easter Elchies estate in Speyside. Alexander Reid founded the distillery there in 1824. The Macallan is an Edrington brand.

In 2018, The Macallan opened its new distillery near the historic Easter Elchies House, which dates from 1700. The building's shape echoes the hills of the surrounding Scottish landscape. For the Colour Collection, the sherry casks are prepared to the specifications of the Whisky Mastery Team and brought to Scotland, where they are filled with the fruity, newly distilled spirit.
