Inspired by Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea is the 2025 chapter of The Macallan’s Harmony Collection and was created in collaboration with JING Tea. Its inspiration is a Phoenix Honey Orchid Oolong from Phoenix Mountain in Guangdong. The tea’s dessert wine-like aromas and exotic fruit provided the sensory starting point for this single malt, bottled at 43.9%.

The largest proportion matured in sherry-seasoned American oak casks, which shape the fruity, floral and sweet character. Sherry-seasoned European oak casks contribute toasted depth and subtle bitterness, while a small proportion of ex-bourbon casks adds another sweet accent.

Peach, apricot, blossom honey and tropical fruit mingle with toffee, citrus and sweet oak. The presentation continues the tea theme: discarded tea leaves were repurposed to make the paper for the gift box.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals summer peach, apricot, blossom honey, tropical fruit and sweet oak.
• Palate: On the palate, peach syrup, warm citrus notes and toffee combine with floral sweetness and subtle bitterness.
• Finish: The finish is fruity, sweet and complex, with gentle oak and lingering fruit sweetness.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Macallan Distillers Ltd produces and bottles this Speyside edition. The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team developed it for the 2025 chapter of the annually limited Harmony Collection and the collaboration with JING Tea.

The Edrington Group Limited acquired Highland Distillers in 1999, thereby taking ownership of The Macallan brand. The new The Macallan distillery and its associated brand home opened in 2018.
