RAMERO Guyana Rum Double Blend

Special Features:

Double Blend brings together Guyanese molasses rum from a column still and a wooden pot still. The blend matures in Schwaigern for at least three years in former whiskey and regional red wine casks.

The rum enters the casks at an alcohol strength of 61%; maturation losses through evaporation exceed 6%. Its dosage is 13 g/l, and its ester content is 9.2 grams per hectolitre of pure alcohol. The rum is bottled at 40%.

Its creamy character combines caramel and dark-fruit notes with toasted coconut flakes and chocolate.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals gentle caramel, accompanied by a delicate, light fruitiness.
• Palate: Coconut and chocolate come together on the palate, while dried fruit adds depth to the flavour.
• Finish: The rum has a long, smooth finish. Creamy caramel lingers, with dark chocolate adding a subtle accent.

Distillery/Bottler:

The idea for RAMERO grew out of a trip to Guyana by the three HEIMAT founders, bringing together Guyanese distilling traditions and cask maturation in Schwaigern. HEIMAT Distillers matures its rums in its own natural-stone cask warehouse and selects freshly emptied wine casks from the region. Working directly with the wineries allows the casks to be refilled promptly, preventing the wine aromas remaining in the staves from being lost during lengthy storage and transport. Seasonal temperature fluctuations influence maturation in the historic stoneworks. HEIMAT Distillers launched the RAMERO range in 2020 and added Double Blend in 2022.
