Bremer Liebe Rum 5 y.o. Venezuela

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 40% | Chill filtration: Yes | Colouring: No

Special Features:

Five years of maturation in former sherry casks in Venezuela distinguish this rum from Bremer Liebe. It combines tropical fruit with sweet vanilla and caramel notes alongside gentle woody tones. Its flavour is full-bodied and balanced.

Molasses forms the base of this Spanish-style rum, which is bottled at 40% alcohol without added colouring. The bottle contains 0.7 litres and comes without additional packaging. As well as being enjoyed neat, it is suitable for making grog.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals ripe mango and passion fruit, accompanied by creamy vanilla and caramel sweetness.
• Palate: On the palate, velvety honey notes combine with exotic fruit and a subtle spiciness.
• Finish: Spicy oak notes and woody tones from the sherry casks remain present throughout the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Bremer Liebe is the brand of the Bremen-based family business Kalbhenn. Julius Kalbhenn founded the specialist wine and spirits shop on Schüsselkorb in 1921. Today, Tim and Robin Kalbhenn run the business in its third and fourth generations. The range also includes their own gin and rum creations.

The house rum draws on an earlier family tradition: Julius Kalbhenn was already selling rum on Bremen's Schüsselkorb in the 1950s. Bremer Liebe continues this connection with the rum trade; its five-year-old rum comes from Venezuela and matures there in former sherry casks.
