Special Features:

This Cambodian rum matured in two locations: four years in tropical conditions in Southeast Asia were followed by three years in Europe's continental climate. Distilled from molasses in 2017, it was released in 2025 as a seven-year-old single-cask bottling in the Transcontinental Rum Line. Combining these two maturation phases is part of the series' concept, which explores different rum origins and their ageing conditions.

Single cask SAM17AO98 yielded 165 bottles worldwide. The rum was bottled at a cask strength of 53.9%, without chill filtration or added colouring. Its ester content is 114.6 grams per hectolitre of pure alcohol. Tropical fruit and caramel combine with a full body and notes of spice and oak. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in a wooden box.

• Nose: Intense tropical fruit aromas lead on the nose. Caramel adds a sweet note.
• Palate: The rum is full-bodied and complex on the palate. Spice and oak notes define its flavour.

Distillery/Bottler:

La Maison & Velier is the company behind the Transcontinental Rum Line. It was established in 2017 as a joint venture between France's La Maison du Whisky and Italy's Velier. La Maison du Whisky has specialised in whisky and rare spirits since 1956, while Velier contributes its particular expertise in discovering and selecting rum.

The Transcontinental Rum Line explores the diversity of rum production. The series selects rums that first mature in their countries of origin, with some then undergoing further ageing in France. Alongside the regular releases, individual cask selections appear outside the usual release schedule. Cambodia 2017/2025 is one of these Single Cask Releases.
