El Ron Prohibido 22 + Wooden Stand
Special Features: El Ron Prohibido 22 is a rum from Mexico, distributed by Sierra Madre GmbH. This rum is produced using the Solera method and matures in 22 carefully selected American oak barrels. Some of these barrels are filled with pecan and almond shells as well as peaches from the Mexican state of Zacatecas, while the others contain Guarapo, the freshly pressed sugarcane juice. The bottling comes in an extravagant packaging with a wooden stand and presents itself in its natural color, as no coloring agents are used.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose opens with aromatic notes of sugarcane syrup, vanilla, and peach, accompanied by cocoa, caramel, pecan, almond, anise, cinnamon, cloves, and wood, underlined by smoky accents.
- Palate: On the palate, flavors of peach and vanilla unfold along with nuts, clove, sugarcane syrup, and caramel. This is combined with wood and smoky tobacco notes as well as a hint of caramel.
- Finish: The finish is harmonious and offers an elegant balance between sweet and spicy elements.
Distillery/Bottler: El Ron Prohibido is produced in Mexico by the Ex-Hacienda Corralejo. Sierra Madre GmbH distributes this rum in Germany. Through the Solera method, which uses 22 American oak barrels, it develops complex aromas. Some of the barrels are filled with special ingredients such as pecan and almond shells as well as peaches, while the other barrels contain Guarapo.
