Honey Batcher 152 combines a short period of cask maturation with an exceptionally high bottling strength. This Dominican rum is made from sugarcane juice in a column still, a continuously operating distillation column. It matures for two years in American white oak, developing a combination of wood, fruit and burnt caramel notes. Smoke and sugarcane round out its aromatic profile.

At 76% alcohol, this bottling brings both high strength and pronounced flavours to mixed drinks. It can be used in a Mai Tai, for example, or floated on top of a cocktail as an additional layer of rum. The rum is bottled without chill filtration or added colouring in bottles containing 0.7 litres.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Caramel and vanilla lead on the nose. Ripe tropical fruit and warm spice complement the aroma.
• Palate: The rum feels full-bodied and powerful on the palate. Sweet and spicy notes define its flavour.
• Finish: The finish lingers, leaving a warm, spicy impression.

Distillery/Bottler:

Bartender and rum enthusiast Fabian Hess is the person behind Honey Batcher. Before bottling his own rums, he spent many years working at the Rote Bar in Nuremberg and later ran the Spiritbomb spirits shop in Düsseldorf. His brand started with single-cask bottlings before adding rums intended for cocktails. Following three single-cask releases, Double Origin became its first regular bottling.

The brand name is a play on the English words “honey badger” and “batch”, meaning a production batch. The animal also features in the label design. The range includes both selected single-cask rums and high-strength bottlings for mixing.
