This limited edition pays tribute to Alfred Isautier, who introduced the house’s distinctive triangular bottle. The cellar master selected a traditional rum for twelve years of maturation in fine-grained oak casks in the house’s own cellar in Saint-Pierre on Réunion.

Bottled at 45%, this rum combines power with a rounded, silky mouthfeel. Its character brings together fruity and woody impressions, fresh accents and a lingering finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals exotic notes, sandalwood, light tobacco, dried fruit and candied citrus fruit.
• Palate: On the palate, the rum is rounded and silky, yet powerful, harmonious and balanced. A delicate iodine and menthol note adds freshness.
• Finish: The finish is very long. Candied fruit, fine woods and cocoa linger after the sip.

Distillery/Bottler:

Louis and Charles Isautier founded the family business on Réunion in 1845. The island’s sugar cane cultivation inspired the brothers to produce rum. Over six generations, the family continued to develop the island’s oldest rum distillery. In 1910, Alfred Isautier introduced the triangular bottle that became a hallmark of the brand.

Isautier sets aside selected batches of white rum for its aged rums. These first mature for six to fourteen months in new oak casks, followed by several years in casks that previously held Isautier rum. The new oak contributes colour and aromas, while the previously used casks support further development and roundness. The house’s oenologist carefully determines the oak’s toasting level. Cask selection is tailored to the progress of maturation.
