Neisson Rhum Vieux Agricole

Special features: This Rhum Vieux Agricole from Neisson is a masterfully composed blend of carefully selected rums that aged for a period of 3 to 9 years in French and American oak barrels. This aging imparts a harmonious symphony of wood, vanilla, honey, and dried fruit notes. The slow reduction to 45% vol. is carried out with care and attention to preserve the aromas optimally.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Inviting aromas of curry, followed by dark fruits like grapes and plums, complemented by nutty nuances and the scent of pickled plums.
  • Palate: Soft and velvety with notes of sugarcane, citrus fruits, and pepper, accompanied by vanilla, jam, and a pleasant smoothness.
  • Finish: Long and spicy, with a balanced mix of fruitiness and spices.

Distillery/Bottler: The Distillerie Neisson, founded in 1931 by brothers Adrien and Hildebert Pamphile, known as Jean Neisson, is located in Carbet on the northern coast of the Caribbean island of Martinique. It is one of the few family-owned and independent distilleries on the island and stands for quality and authenticity. The famous "Zépol Karé" bottle with its distinctive shoulders is synonymous with high-quality Rhum Agricole. Since 2013, Neisson has switched to organic farming and has been producing the first organic AOC Martinique Rhum since 2016.
