For RAMERO PX-Sherry Cask, sherry casks shape the entire maturation rather than just a final finishing period. The molasses rum from Guyana matures in Schwaigern in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Andalusia. These arrive freshly emptied and are filled with rum immediately upon arrival.

The distillates come from a column still and a wooden pot still. During cask maturation, the alcohol strength is 61%; the rum is bottled at 46% in 0.5-litre bottles. The dosage is 8.4 grams per litre, and no colouring is added. Alongside the fruity and chocolate notes, there are notes of spice and toasted shredded coconut.

The first release, introduced in November 2025, comprised 800 hand-numbered bottles.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, candied fruit, damsons and raisins mingle with dark chocolate and oak.
• Palate: The rum feels soft and sweet on the palate. Plums, dates and berries meet cocoa, caramel, vanilla and toasted nuts.
• Finish: The medium-length finish lingers with sweet, fruity notes and leaves a pleasant warmth.

Distillery/Bottler:

RAMERO is the work of HEIMAT Distillers in Schwaigern-Niederhofen. Starting in 2017, Raphael Heiche, Rouven Richter and Marcel Eßlinger initially developed their own gin. They were able to draw on the distilling experience of Rouven's family: his father ran the family distillery in its fifth generation. Following the conversion of a former natural stone works, the HEIMAT distillery opened in 2018.

For the RAMERO range, HEIMAT Distillers combine the selection of rum and casks with maturation in their own cask warehouse. Working with wineries allows them to refill freshly emptied wine casks quickly, preserving their aromatic character. The warehouse in the historic natural stone works is exposed to seasonal temperature fluctuations; hot summers and cold winters influence cask maturation there. For PX-Sherry Cask, the distillate comes from Guyana, while the entire cask maturation takes place in Schwaigern.
