Special Features:

Batch 02/2024 combines pot- and column-still distillates from Guyana with a blend of five cask components matured in Germany. This release contains 0.5 litres and was bottled in February 2024 at 46% as the second Cigar Rum batch. Its fruity sweetness and robust, bitter-edged character were specifically developed to complement cigars.

Spätburgunder casks provide a foundation of dark fruit and creamy milk chocolate, while Buffalo Trace casks add bourbon vanilla and caramel. Former Slyrs Single Malt casks contribute dried fruit. Used strong-beer casks initially bring a hint of malt, followed by intense notes of roasted coffee beans. Fresh oak casks made specifically for HEIMAT balance the fruity sweetness with the robust, bitter-edged side.

For the Cigar Rum concept, Rouven Richter and David Christopher first developed an initial blend in Schwaigern. Daniel Beuthner and Rouven Richter then assessed and refined it through numerous tastings with different cigars. The final five-cask composition thus emerged from repeated pairing sessions.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Caramel and dried fruit stand out intensely on the nose.
• Palate: On the palate, vanilla and spices combine with a hint of chocolate.
• Finish: The finish is long and warm.

Distillery/Bottler:

At the Diamond Distillery in Guyana, Demerara Distillers Limited produces the molasses distillates that form the RAMERO base, using a column still and a wooden pot still. HEIMAT Distillers handles maturation, blending and bottling in Schwaigern. As a development partner, Götterfunken TV contributed its experience of rum and cigar pairings to this special edition.

With RAMERO, HEIMAT Distillers combines distillation in Guyana with its own cask work in Germany. Maturation takes place entirely at its own distillery. Whiskey and wine casks are part of the brand's cask selection; for Cigar Rum, used strong-beer casks and specially made fresh oak casks broaden this selection.
