Extended maturation in former bourbon casks distinguishes this Rhum Agricole from Bielle. Distilled from pure sugarcane juice in 2008, the rum spent 13 years in oak casks in Marie-Galante’s tropical climate. Four matured rums were brought together for this bottling.

Bielle bottled the rum in 2021 without dilution at 55.1%. Here, the designation Brut de fût denotes its natural cask strength. The limited release comprises 995 numbered decanters. Each decanter contains 0.7 litres and comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Honey, spices and vanilla lead on the nose.
• Palate: Cooked fruit combines with toasted bread on the palate. The mouthfeel is velvety.
• Finish: The long finish carries vanilla notes and a light woody note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Bielle has produced Rhum Agricole on Marie-Galante since 1910. Production begins with freshly hand-cut sugarcane, which is pressed to extract its juice. This pure sugarcane juice, also known as Vesou, forms the basis of the rums. After distillation, the spirit either becomes white rum or goes into casks for maturation.

The 2008 vintage was distilled in column stills. For this release, Bielle is both the producing distillery and the bottler: after maturation, the rum was bottled directly at Distillerie Bielle.
