Tropical ageing in former bourbon casks shapes Ron Cristóbal Pinta. The blend brings together rums from the Dominican Republic aged for six to eight years. The rum is distilled in columns and bottled at 40% alcohol. Its character combines gentle sweetness with fresh mint accents and restrained woody notes.

The name Pinta recalls one of the ships on which Christopher Columbus crossed the Atlantic in 1492. The portrait of Columbus on the label also reflects this historical connection. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in a cylindrical tube.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, warm vanilla aromas meet delicate woody notes. A hint of fresh mint then emerges, while the aroma remains gentle.
• Palate: On the palate, the initial gentle sweetness gives way to fresh mint and marzipan. The rum feels juicy and balanced, accompanied by a subtle woody note.
• Finish: Subtle woody notes linger through the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos produces the rum for Ron Cristóbal in the Dominican Republic. The company harvests its own sugar cane, and fermentation and distillation also take place in the country of origin. Production thus remains rooted in the Dominican Republic, from the agricultural raw material to the distillate.

The Danish company 1423 ApS is behind the brand. It began with a group of whisky enthusiasts who discovered their enthusiasm for rum at a fair. Their first rum bottling was created in November 2008 and launched in early 2009. This grew into a company that works with rum producers from various countries and offers other spirits alongside its own brands.
