Ron Santiago de Cuba Añejo matures for eight years in white oak casks in the Cuban birthplace of the light rum style. Bottled at 40%, it combines this lightness with mature notes reminiscent of twice-aged aguardiente.

Honey, vanilla and cocoa shape its smooth, balanced profile. Tropical fruit, a little coffee and chocolate broaden its aromatic range; natural sweetness and delicate spice linger in the finish. The Añejo is suitable for enjoying over ice as well as in cocktails.

Corporación Cuba Ron S.A. produces Ron Santiago de Cuba in Cuba, working with the Maestros del Ron Cubano. The brand comes from Santiago de Cuba in the southeast of the island, where the tradition of Ron Ligero Cubano originated. Mountains meet the sea in the Oriente region; heat and humidity shape the conditions for growing sugar cane and maturing rum in casks.

The brand uses molasses from sugar cane grown in the Oriente region to make its rum. Fermentation and distillation are followed by charcoal filtration. The Maestros blend distillates of different ages and work with both new white oak casks and others that have been used for many years. Blending is followed by a further maturation period. This interplay of cask selection, maturation and blending is part of Cuba's production tradition, safeguarded by the protected designation of origin Cuba.

In 2019, Corporación Cuba Ron S.A. and a European Diageo subsidiary established the joint venture Ron Santiago S.A. to market the brand internationally. It received exclusive worldwide distribution rights for the brand outside the USA.
