Special Features:

A combination of tropical and European maturation distinguishes this small batch from Venezuela. Distilled in 2010, the rum spent its first 13 years in its country of origin, followed by another two years in Europe. It matured in ex-bourbon casks throughout those fifteen years; Rum Nation selected casks 72 to 74 for this bottling.

The 2025 release comprises 796 bottles worldwide. The rum is bottled at 54.2%, without chill filtration or added colouring. Its fruit-led character combines creamy mango and banana notes with vanilla, caramel and restrained oak spice. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in a tube, while a leopard motif defines the vintage-style label.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Intense tropical fruit sits alongside candied citrus and warm vanilla on the nose. Caramel adds to the fruity bouquet.
• Palate: The rum feels creamy and velvety on the palate. Mango compote and roasted banana meet a hint of sweet caramel, accompanied by subtle oak spice.
• Finish: Tropical fruit notes and delicate spices linger through the long finish. Oak complements the fruit-led aftertaste.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Venezuelan origin of this rum is identified as SOFA. Destileria Sofa is a name used for trademark reasons to refer to a Venezuelan distillery whose actual name is not disclosed for independent bottlings of this kind.

Rum Nation was founded in 1999 by Italian Fabio Rossi. His concept focuses on the different rum styles of individual countries of origin. Mature rums are purchased from selected distilleries and brought to Italy for blending and bottling. Postage-stamp motifs on the labels reflect their respective origins. The brand has belonged to Mac Y since 2018; Rossi & Rossi continues to work on behalf of the owner.
