Special Features:

The Triple Wood stands apart within the Stork Club range through its recipe made exclusively from malted rye. Three German rye malts—pale rye malt, caramel malt and chocolate malt—contribute to its complex, chocolatey character.

It matures in American oak and German Napoleon oak casks custom-toasted for Stork Club, as well as former sherry casks. Alongside candied walnuts, chocolate and nut praline, it reveals rye bread, dried fruit, cocoa, oak, sherry and fresh black pepper.

The miniature contains 0.05 litres and is bottled at 43%. The whiskey is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals candied walnuts, chocolate and rye bread.
• Palate: The whiskey is full-bodied on the palate, where nut praline, rye spice and dark chocolate combine with a nutty texture and subtle oak.
• Finish: The long, warming finish leaves a bold, spicy impression framed by lingering oak.

Distillery/Bottler:

Spreewood Distillers produces Stork Club in Schlepzig, in the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve around 60 kilometres south of Berlin. Steffen Lohr, Sebastian Brack and Bastian Heuser refocused the existing distillery on rye whiskey in 2017.

The rye comes from Brandenburg and is milled in the distillery’s own hammer mill. After around five days of fermentation, the distillery performs a two-stage distillation in hybrid copper stills: first in a pot still, then through an Aromator with five copper plates. Bottling and labelling are carried out mainly by hand on site.
