The Marsala finish shapes this single-cask Auchroisk. Distilled in 2013, the whisky was bottled from cask #367500 in 2024 after a total of ten years of maturation. It spent the final 22 months in a First Fill Marsala Hogshead made from European oak. This bottling is part of James Eadie's spring 2024 releases and was selected for export.

James Eadie bottled 285 bottles at a cask strength of 57.3%, without added colouring or chill filtration. The whisky combines dark berries and toffee with nutty and spicy impressions.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, ripe blackberries and toasted almonds mingle with delicate cinnamon spice. A subtle earthy turmeric note and a hint of oak add further nuances.
• Palate: On the palate, intense cherry and strawberry notes meet soft toffee and a creamy texture reminiscent of cashews. Cloves and cinnamon provide pronounced spicy accents, accompanied by subtle oak notes.
• Finish: Red-berry sweetness and pronounced spice linger through the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Auchroisk is located near Mulben in Speyside and began distilling on 15 January 1974. The distillery was built primarily to supply malt whisky for the J&B blend. Dories Well played an important role in the choice of location; its soft water is used in production.

Independent bottler James Eadie managed the subsequent cask maturation and bottling of this Auchroisk. Its range focuses on cask finishes, single-cask bottlings and small batches of Single Malt and Single Grain Scotch Whisky. The name comes from James Eadie, who founded a brewing and bottling business in 1854. His great-great-grandson Rupert Patrick later revived the whisky brand, drawing on old business ledgers and a surviving bottle from the 1940s.
