Special Features:

The 0.05-litre miniature contains the twelve-year-old GlenAllachie from the distillery’s core range. Its maturation combines Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks with virgin oak casks, meaning new oak casks that have not previously held another liquid. This non-smoky Speyside Single Malt is bottled at 46% without added colouring or chill filtration.

GlenAllachie introduced a refreshed design in 2024; the whisky inside the bottle remained unchanged. Its full-bodied character brings together dark sweetness and fruit with roasted coffee and spices. Alongside heather honey and marzipan, its flavour spectrum includes banana, cooked apple and cocoa powder.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals nuances of dark chocolate, dark sugar syrup and heather honey. Cinnamon, espresso and sweet, sticky raisins sit in the background.
• Palate: Marzipan and orchard fruits emerge first on the palate, followed by warming mocha, butterscotch and grated nutmeg.
• Finish: Butterscotch, raisins and mocha linger in the medium-length finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

The GlenAllachie Distillery is located in Aberlour in Speyside and produces the Single Malt. The company behind the brand is The GlenAllachie Distillers Co. Limited. Billy Walker, Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson acquired the distillery in 2017. Previously, its production had mainly gone into blends; the new owners launched their first core range of Single Malts in 2018.

Designed by William Delmé-Evans, the distillery was largely laid out to operate by gravity to save energy; production began in 1968. Today, GlenAllachie ferments its wort for 160 hours in stainless-steel vessels and distils twice. Billy Walker and his team monitor the development of the maturing whiskies. Their tastings guide decisions on whether a transfer to another cask type would be beneficial or whether the balance between distillery character and wood influence is already right.
