GlenAllachie 15 yo - Miniature New Equipment

Volume: 0.05 litres | Alcohol content: 46% | Chill filtration: No | Colouring: No

Special Features:

Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry hogsheads and puncheons shape the maturation of this 15-year-old GlenAllachie. Billy Walker chose these cask types to bring together the distillery's character and the influence of sherry maturation. The miniature contains 0.05 litres; the whisky is bottled at 46%, with natural colour and without chill filtration. The design update in 2024 did not change the whisky.

Its sherry-led character combines dark fruit with honeyed sweetness and spice. Cinnamon, vanilla toffee and dark chocolate also contribute to its character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Dark cherries, golden syrup and sweet spices lead the nose. Hints of toffee, glazed figs and hazelnuts round out the aroma.
• Palate: Heather honey, orange peel, cocoa and ginger come together on the palate.
• Finish: Caramelised brown sugar lingers on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

GlenAllachie distillery in Speyside was built in 1967 to designs by William Delmé-Evans and began production in 1968. Its largely gravity-driven processes were intended to reduce energy requirements. For many years, its whisky was used mainly in blends.

Billy Walker, Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson acquired the distillery in 2017. Their first core single malt range followed in 2018, with the 15-year-old joining it in 2019. During its development, Walker monitored the maturation of the selected casks over an extended period. This whisky is an official GlenAllachie bottling.
