Glencadam Reserva Andalucía brings together the distillery’s fruity style and several stages of sherry maturation. Whiskies from selected sherry butts in its own dunnage warehouses are married with bourbon-cask-matured whiskies. The resulting blend then receives a finish in Oloroso sherry butts from Andalusia. This bottling celebrates Glencadam’s connection to the Spanish sherry region, combining a pronounced sherry character with sultanas and sweet spice notes.

The miniature contains 0.05 litres and is offered at 46% alcohol in a tube. This non-smoky Single Malt is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Ripe berries and soft nougat appear first. Vanilla and oak join them, while fresh fudge stays in the background.
• Palate: The whisky feels soft and creamy on the palate. Sultanas and orchard fruits meet the sweetness of toffee apples.
• Finish: The long finish remains silky and soft. Honey, muscovado sugar and green tea linger on the tongue.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glencadam Distillery is located in Brechin in the eastern Highlands. David Scott founded it in 1825 on land leased from his father-in-law, George Cooper. Following its closure in 2000, Angus Dundee Distillers acquired the distillery in 2003 and resumed production that same year.

Glencadam uses unpeated Scottish malted barley, which is ground in a historic Porteus mill. During mashing, water is added to the grist in three stages at progressively higher temperatures. The resulting wort ferments with distiller’s yeast in Oregon Pine washbacks. After double distillation, the heart cut is selected for cask maturation. The distillery’s storage facilities include traditional dunnage warehouses dating from its founding year, 1825.
