Scapegrace ANTHEM Single Malt
Special features: This single malt comes from the Scapegrace Distillery, located at the 45th parallel in the south of New Zealand. The climatic conditions with intense summers and cold winters provide a unique cask maturation. The production follows a consistent "Grain-to-Glass" philosophy, using local barley from South Canterbury, fresh glacier water, and Manuka wood for the production of the smoked malt. It is matured, among other things, in new French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Smoky notes with hints of eucalyptus, menthol, and forest floor, characteristic of the Manuka wood drying.
- Palate: Spiced walnuts, fruity cider apple aromas, and a fine sweetness from hay add complexity.
- Finish: Long-lasting, with elegant smoky nuances and a pleasant spiciness.
