This twelve-year-old Speyside single malt was selected for extended maturation in Oloroso Sherry Butts because of its underlying cereal and fruit character. This cask choice brings together the spirit’s character and a balanced interplay of sweetness and spice. The whisky has an alcohol content of 45.3%.

The whisky is full-bodied and deep, with a rich texture. Dried fruit, spiced baked goods and honey shape its character, while subtle citrus and chocolate notes complement the finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, sun-dried fruit mingles with baking spices.
• Palate: The palate is rich and full, with spiced fruitcake and honeyed toast.
• Finish: Subtle notes of brown sugar, orange and dark chocolate emerge on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

As an independent bottler, Berry Bros. & Rudd selects this Speyside malt for its own whisky range. Its first known cask bottling under its own name dates from 1853. This makes the firm one of Britain’s longest-established independent spirits bottlers, continuing its practice of selection and bottling to this day.

The family-run merchant’s history began in 1698, when the widow Bourne opened a grocery shop opposite London’s St James’s Palace. Under George Berry, the focus increasingly shifted towards wine and spirits in the early 19th century. The shop remains at No.3 St James’s Street today.
