Special Features:

Sherry casks shape this Tamdhu throughout its fifteen years of maturation. It matures in first-fill and second-fill Oloroso sherry casks made from American and European oak. A higher proportion of European oak casks being used for whisky maturation for the first time gives this bottling its pronounced sherry character.

The whisky is bottled at 46% alcohol without chill filtration or added colouring. The bottle contains 0.7 litres and comes with gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, apple pie, spicy currants and orange peel mingle with pineapple and fennel.
• Palate: Intense summer fruits unfold on the palate, with juicy apricot and raspberry. Lemon tart and creamy almond notes complement the fruity impression.
• Finish: The long finish recalls warming malt biscuit, cream sherry and vanilla.

Distillery/Bottler:

Tamdhu was founded on the River Spey in 1897. Its founders commissioned distillery architect Charles C. Doig to design the distillery. Following its closure in 2010, Tamdhu reopened in January 2012 under the family-owned company Ian Macleod Distillers.

Today, Tamdhu focuses on single malts matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks. The fifteen-year-old whisky is made exclusively from malted barley and distilled twice in copper stills with swan necks. The subsequent cask selection combines American and European oak, making sherry maturation a defining feature of this bottling.
