Special Features:

This miniature offers Wolfburn Aurora in a tasting format: it contains 0.05 litres of the same Single Malt as the larger bottles, bottled at 46%. The unpeated spirit matures in a combination of first-fill ex-bourbon casks and first-fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads. After maturation, the whiskies from both groups of casks are married, bringing their different cask influences together in a balanced composition.

Aurora combines sherry sweetness and autumn fruit with floral and spicy impressions. The whisky retains its natural colour and is bottled without chill filtration.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose first reveals sherry sweetness, followed by freshly cut grass and autumn fruits. Coffee and dark chocolate add subtle nuances to the bouquet.
• Palate: Floral notes lead on the palate, accompanied by spice and vanilla. Fruity sweetness coats the palate; fruit and nut flavours lead into a warm, soft finish.
• Finish: The finish lingers gently, with sherry notes remaining present to the very end.

Distillery/Bottler:

Wolfburn Distillery is located in Thurso in the northern Scottish Highlands. Aurora is an official distillery bottling. Production is shaped by long fermentation and slow, gentle double distillation; the whisky then matures in the distillery's own warehouses near the coast. For Aurora, the whiskies matured in bourbon and Oloroso casks are married after maturation is complete.

The water used in production comes from the Wolf burn, whose source lies close to the distillery. Along its course, it is naturally filtered through the rock of Caithness. Wolfburn uses a single yeast strain and allows time for fermentation to develop fruity aromas. Maturation takes place in traditional dunnage warehouses by the sea.
