Special features: The Yuza Distillery, founded in 2018 in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan, presents the Second Edition 2022, a single malt whisky that matured in bourbon and sherry casks. It was bottled in 2022 at cask strength with an alcohol content of 62%. This natural whisky comes without coloring and chill filtration.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Intense aromas of dried fruits, accompanied by fresh notes of apple, peach, and pear.
- Palate: Full-bodied and creamy with a mix of dried fruits, fresh fruits, and a pleasant vanilla sweetness. A hint of smoke adds depth.
- Finish: Long-lasting with malty notes accompanied by vanilla and spices.
Distillery/Bottler: The Yuza Distillery is the first and only whisky distillery in Yamagata Prefecture. It was founded in 2018 and utilizes the fresh, pure air and spring water from the nearby Mount Chokai. Under the concept "TLAS" (Tiny, Lovely, Authentic and Supreme), the distillery produces authentic whiskies of the highest quality.
