Special Features:

Agave remains clearly evident in Patrón Reposado even after cask maturation. This tequila is made from 100% blue Weber agave and matures for at least four months in previously used American, French and Hungarian oak casks. Pronounced cooked agave notes mingle with restrained oak and vanilla. Maturation also gives it a pale amber-gold colour.

Honey and tropical fruit complement the agave character. Patrón Reposado can be enjoyed neat or used in cocktails such as a Margarita, Paloma or Reposado Old Fashioned. This version contains 0.7 litres at 40% alcohol and comes without gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals fresh and cooked agave, accompanied by pumpkin, lemon tea, toasted bread and vanilla. Oak and a hint of citrus add further notes.
• Palate: The tequila feels smooth and sweet on the palate. Agave and oak mingle with fruit, citrus and honey. Cinnamon, vanilla and coconut complement the fruit notes of banana, apple and pear.
• Finish: Light floral notes and vanilla linger on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Patrón is produced at Hacienda Patrón in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. The distillery uses blue Weber agaves that have grown for at least five years before harvest. Their hearts are cut by hand and cooked in masonry ovens. Alternating steaming and resting phases over a total of 79 hours ensure even cooking.

Patrón combines two methods to extract the agave juice: a roller mill and the tahona, a heavy volcanic stone millstone. The juice from the roller mill and the juice together with the fibres from the tahona process are fermented separately in small pinewood fermentation vats. Each then undergoes two distillations in copper pot stills whose design goes back to the original Master Distiller, Francisco Alcaraz. The distillates are subsequently combined; the aged bottlings also undergo cask maturation and blending of the matured tequilas.
