Special Features:

A finish in Port Pipes from Portugal complements this Tomintoul's maturation in American oak ex-bourbon casks. Distilled in 2006, the single malt is bottled after a total of 15 years. The port wine casks contribute cherry and sultana aromas alongside chocolate and spice notes.

The limited edition comprises 9,762 bottles. The whisky is bottled at 46%, without chill filtration or added colouring. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in a tube.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, dark chocolate, sultanas and mocha combine to create a warming impression. These aromas develop into notes of cloves and cinnamon.
• Palate: On the palate, maraschino cherries and cooked fruit meet tonka bean and chocolate shavings. Cedarwood adds a spicy note.
• Finish: The finish is sweet and sumptuous. Cherry liqueur chocolates, rhubarb crumble and ginger biscuits combine with baking spices.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 1965, Tomintoul lies near the village of the same name in the Cairngorms National Park. The Speyside distillery uses soft water from the Ballantruan spring and distils in tall stills. These factors contribute to the gentle style of its single malts.

Master Distiller Robert Fleming comes from a family now in its fourth generation of whisky production in Speyside. He has overseen Tomintoul for more than 30 years and is responsible for production together with his team. The distillery belongs to Angus Dundee Distillers and offers its own single malt range, which includes this port-finished vintage bottling.
