A finish in White Port barriques follows this Tomintoul's initial maturation in American oak ex-bourbon casks. Master Distiller Robert Fleming sourced the selected White Port barriques from Portugal for this finishing period. Their influence gives the single malt a distinctly sweet and fruity character, combining berry and dessert notes with spice and wood.

The whisky was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2023 after 14 years of maturation. This limited edition comprises 5,610 bottles. It has an alcohol content of 46% and is neither chill-filtered nor coloured. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in a tube.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, red berries mingle with aromas of freshly baked bread and strawberry tart. Cinnamon and nutmeg add delicate spicy accents.
• Palate: The palate offers a sweet, layered combination of cooked fruit, blackberry jam and shortbread. Panna cotta, ginger and toasted oak complement the fruit and pastry notes.
• Finish: On the finish, raspberry coulis, crème caramel and cocoa powder meet cedarwood and the spice of pink peppercorns.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 1965, Tomintoul Distillery lies near the village of the same name in Cairngorms National Park. It uses soft water from the Ballantruan spring and tall stills to produce its whisky. These two elements help underpin its gentle, balanced distillery style.

Master Distiller Robert Fleming comes from a family that has distilled whisky in Speyside for four generations. He has overseen Tomintoul for more than 30 years and is responsible, together with his team, for producing its single malts. This official bottling brings together the distillery's work and his selection of Portuguese White Port barriques for the finish.
